For generations, since the Irish town of
This warlock had been a threat to good for as long as the Fitzgerald family had claimed lordship of Fitzgaren. Where he sought to control by black magic and deceit, he always found himself tharwted by the current Lord of Fitzgaren. While this battle of wills existed, Sebastian also lived with the knowledge that one day a Circle of Five would be born to a Lord of Fitzgaren that would eventually see him defeated and banished. He was determined not to let this event happen.
For centuries it had seemed like Sebastian had succeeded in this until the day came in the 20th century that the current Lord of Fitzgaren, Toryn Fitzgerald, and his wife Brenna, had their fifth and final child and all through the magic realms of mystery joy reined as it was known that Toryn's sons would be the ones to fulfill the long made prophecy and defeat the Warlock.
Life went on and the five Fitzgerald brothers went on to become very successful singers who toured the world, sang for royalty and above all else listened to the stories of their father and of the prophecy that would fall on them. Ranging from ages of 19 to 3, Toryn watched and taught his sons the way of their ancestors while protecting them as best as he could. All was well until one fateful day when Sebastian decided to stop the threat to his power by killing one of his enemy's sons.
Roarke Fitzgerald was the fourth born son & was 11 years old the day he went on a trip to an outer island with his parents when Sebastian attacked, trying to take his life and break the Circle before it could be formed. He was the only survivor of the attack that left his parents dead, Sebastian forced to retreat and also left him shattered and filled with guilt.
Knowing the risks involved and the ultimate outcome, Toryn and Brenna Fitzgerald used the last of their power and love for their sons to cast a weak banishing spell on Sebastian that would keep him sealed in his secret lair for a certain matter of years and allow their sons to grow to adulthood.
However, what they hadn't been expecting was that due to the greed and bitterness of others involved their sons would soon be tore apart to grow up away from each other and only the reappearance of Sebastian, fifteen years later, would reunite the now grown Fitzgerald brothers.
Sebastian has waited fifteen long years to be able to act against his hated foes. He had been able to see them grow, knew what made them tick and knew how to hurt them. He planned to use all that to his advantage as he sets his powers and minions loose on the brothers. Knowing it would take only one to die or fall to his will to break the Circle and ensure his powerbase for another generation or more. Well-versed with his foes, he prepares for the long battle to come but already knows which he will focus on first. The one that got away so many years before. Roarke.
Cast of Characters: The Fitzgeralds:
Kerry Fitzgerald: The eldest of the five Fitzgerald brothers, it was Kerry who began the family in the music business and also the one with the personality to handle four younger brothers who not only enjoyed attracting mischief but also enjoyed fighting with one another. Light-haired like his mother, Kerry's strongest gift in magic was empathic but also knew the spells of fire & other elemental based powers. Taught responsibility in both family and magic, he had been a serious young man at 19 when his parents died and he became more serious when he lost the bitter struggle to keep his younger brothers. Now, a solemn man he lives in the family manor at Fitzgaren and keeps mainly to himself. Amusing himself with small interests like businesses, horses and various little things he has sworn never to perform again and has kept that promise. Now, 15 years after he buried his parents, the evil has returned and he knows what that will bring in the way of pain to his family and finds himself wondering if he's strong enough to protect what is his again; despite the well-intentions of a newly returned native of the town who soon finds herself involved in the Fitzgerald family struggle.
Patrick 'Mac' Fitzgerald: Sixteen years old the day his parents never returned from their brief holiday, Mac found himself separated from the brothers he loved and the home he knew. The most patient and soothing of the five, his strength lay in the healing arts of his Mother which was why he majored in medicine while in school and as a quick learner also picked up degrees in law and was a natural with animals. Not to say he couldn't use the more flamboyant powers when needed, he just preferred healing. Quiet and naturally soothing, Mac lived as he wanted until the day his quiet life was interrupted by the arrival of both a fiery haired Mayo reporter who asked too many questions about things she shouldn't and also the emissary of the very foe he had hated for years. Knowing the time of peace was up, Mac accepted he had no choice but to return home to find the answers to questions that had never been answered. His only question was, could he do it without killing one of his brothers or the reporter who found himself falling in love with?
Ryan Fitzgerald: Black haired and arrogant, the third son of Toryn Fitzgerald, had been wild as a child and that never changed as he grew. Thirteen years old on that fateful day, Ryan never forgot the pain or bitterness he felt over losing his parents & carried that with him through life as he grew up in
Roarke Fitzgerald: As the fourth born son, Roarke knew that except for the ability to sing he really wasn't like his brothers. He wasn't as smart in school like Kerry or Mac. In fact, he struggled writing English for years as he suffered from dyslexia. He wasn't as wild or rowdy as Ryan though he enjoyed playing the normal children’s games and liked to play with his brothers though not when Ryan picked on him as he was prone to do more times than not. So he kept to himself or with his friend, a little British girl named Jessica. Roarke had been the one who wanted to go to the island that day and enjoyed his rare time alone with his parents. However, even at 11 he knew whose fault it was that he parents died that day and he accepted that guilt fully. Shattered and shocked from witnessing the murders, he found himself tore from the brothers he needed and forced to live in
Ian Fitzgerald: The baby of the family, light-haired Ian had only been 3-years old when he lost his family. Sent to
Mary Maragret Cavanaugh: A fiery and fiesty young reporter who first merely planned a story on Mac when she soon found herself drawn into the mystery surrounding the Fitzgeralds. Now, she finds herself getting deeper involved, not only with the story but with her subject.
Jessica Hadley: Roarke's long-time friend, sometime partner and also the woman he will fall in love with, Jessica's not a stranger to the weird or unnatural that comes calling yet even she isn't expecting the risks to both heart and soul as the evil that seeks to destroy her friends knows how to hurt her as he seeks to destroy the Fitzgeralds.
Molly Jackson: A young American student who goes to school with Ian, Molly's own past quickly comes to light as her surprising involvement in her friend's disappearance shows her that not only is there more to her friend than she expected but there was more to her own inner courage as well.
Andrea McCabe: The strong willed, stubborn security agent that works for Ryan arrives in Ireland with plans to collect a debt and to stop the odd feelings she's been having for weeks. A natural rival to her boss's own fiery and hardheaded nature, Andi sees something that she hadn't expected in Ryan and chooses to stay even as he bitterly fights to get her to leave. As things increase, she will soon have to face her own past as well as help Ryan overcome the secrets in his own.
Cheyenne O'Connor: The niece of the Fitzgerald's housekeeper, she returns to Ireland for both a visit with her father's family and to conclude business when she finds herself drawn back to the past as she faces Kerry for the first time since walking away from their budding relationship. Stubbornness keeps both from facing what is still there but soon she must face noth only why she ran back to the reservation of her Mother's people in New Mexico but also the very fact that she might be all that keeps the prophecy from failing as Kerry comes close to losing not only his own private battle but also the very war.
